How to Save on your car's fuel money (road, car, money, income, economy, recession, savings)

Hi, here's some petrol saving tips.

Someone who has been in petroleum pipeline business for about 31 years and is currently working for the Kinder-Morgan Pipeline in San Jose, CA wrote the following information:
We deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period from the pipe line; one day it's diesel, the next day it's jet fuel and gasoline. We have 34 storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons.

Here are some tricks to help you get your money's worth.

Fill up your car or truck in the morning when the temperature is still cool. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground; and the colder the ground, the denser the gasoline. When it gets warmer gasoline expands, so if you're filling up in the afternoon or in the evening, what should be a gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and temperature of the fuel (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products) are significant. Every truckload that we load is temperature-compensated so that the indicated gallonage is actually the amount pumped. A one-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for businesses, but service stations don't have temperature compensation at their pumps.

If a tanker truck is filling the station's tank at the time you want to buy gas, do not fill up; most likely dirt and sludge in the tank is being stirred up when gas is being.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness, 2009 (Mobile Phone Sneak Preview, ASPA Mobile Phone Repair, Auckland)

Today Sony Ericsson announced the full specifications of the XPERIA Pureness handset, their first go at the high-end all-about-design devices market. Coming with a simplistic design and the typical for the class beautiful craftsmanship, feature-wise the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness is mostly a one-trick pony. But, oh my, what a trick it is - the XPERIA Pureness is the first mobile phone with a see-through display.

Moving on to the newly announced features of the device - Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness will measure 102.0 x 43.0 x 13.0 mm and will weigh only 70 grams. It will pack 88MB of internal memory, Bluetooth A2DP and USB connectivity. The quad-band GSM radio will give it worldwide roaming capabilities, while the 3G with HSPA support will deliver the high-speeds needed for the NetFront web browser (yes, there is one, even though it's grayscale only).

There's also FM radio onboard the XPERIA Pureness and the company's proprietary FastPort. It's still beyond us how come Sony Ericsson can place a crater of this caliber on the side of the phone and still promote it as fashion-minded.

Another thing missing is certainly the option for memory expansion as 88MB don't sound merely enough for storing your music collection.

The official specifications of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness also contain some pretty amusing mistakes. For one the company states that the display is capable of showing up to 262K colors, when in fact it is grayscale. One would think they will double-check that spec after the whole debate over the misspelled specs on the XPERIA X10. We also cannot see any M2 slot on the device (mind you, the battery cover cannot be opened).

Anyway, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness should be available before the end of the month for about 600 euro in select boutiques (you won't be finding that one in your run-of-the-mill operator shop). We guess, them piggy banks should start trembling, or should they?

Nokia N97 mini joins the club in white, looks ice cool (Mobile Phone Review, tech, report, ASPA Mobile Phone Repair)

The Nokia N97 mini has been available for only a few days now that we are faced with a nice winter-themed surprise. No, we're not talking about the phone contents, but rather its color. It's white this time in tune with the upcoming holiday season and most of all in tune with the original look of its elder brother - Nokia N97.

Back in the day when Nokia introduced the Nokia N97 mini, the device was expected in two color versions - Cherry Black and Garnet. Now, a few days after its market launch, N97 mini is also available in a third, previously unannounced, color variant. Well, you can bet it's as white as it gets. Meet the N97 mini Snow White.

As far as the functionality is concerned, nothing has been changed. You get the same 3.2" resistive touchscreen, slide out full QWERTY keyboard and a 5 megapixel autofocus sharpshooter. Unlike its bigger bro, the N97, which comes with good 32GB aboard, Nokia N97 mini packs only 8GB of internal memory. The other differences are minor.

When closed the two smartphones look almost the same. The same goes for the QWERTY keyboard (the only major difference here is N97's D-pad). The only deal breaker when it comes to N97 mini is its price which is about the same (if not higher) as the one of its more capable brother.

Nokia N97 mini is already available in white in select stores where it is sold exclusively but we hope to see it offered by a wider range of merchants as soon as possible because the white version looks really hot, uhh... sorry, we meant cool.
